Foundation

The LaMissTenn Kiwanis District Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit, charitable corporation, established in 1980, by the Louisiana-Mississippi-West Tennessee District of Kiwanis International, under the provisions of the Internal Revenue Service Code 501(c)(3). 

The District Foundation is the “fundraising arm” of the LaMissTenn Kiwanis District.  It is charged with finding financial ways to support scholarships and leadership training of the Service Leadership Programs, and meaningful service projects of the member Kiwanis clubs.  These projects are in consonance with and support the Objects of Kiwanis International. 

The mission of the Kiwanis District Foundation is to provide financial assistance for Kiwanis projects and programs within our District.

What does the District Foundation do with the contributions?

• Community Service Projects: Over the years, the Foundation Board has awarded grants to clubs for a variety of worthwhile service projects. 
• Key Club & Circle K Scholarships: Over $10,000 has been awarded annually in scholarships to deserving Key Club Seniors and Circle K members throughout the district. 
• Leadership Training for Sponsored Youth: The Foundation awards over $4,000 in grants to provide leadership training to officers and members of Circle K and Key Club. 
• The Operating Expenses of the Foundation: The costs of operating the Foundation are also covered by donations.  The administrative and fundraising efforts of the volunteer organization are covered by your generous support of the Foundation.
