Teacher of the Year

The Teacher of the Year Award honors an educator in the LaMissTenn District (Kiwanian or non-Kiwanian), who in the opinion of the nominating club has exemplified, in an unusual and/or exceptional way, service above and beyond the call of duty.

If your club recognizes a Teacher of the Year in your community, we suggest that you forward that individual on to the District – let’s find the most outstanding teacher in the District!

The winner will be announced at District Convention, where the award will be presented to a representative of the nominating club, and the following issue of the LaMissTenn District Kiwanis News. The winner need not attend the District Convention. The club should schedule a time at a regular or special club meeting to present the award to the recipient, inviting family members, personal friends, members of the recipient’s law enforcement agency and local government, and members of the press and local media to participate in the presentation ceremony. The LaMissTenn District Foundation will also make a $300 grant to the winner’s charity of choice.
