2026-2027 Lt. Governor Quarterly Reports Guide

One of an Lt. Governor’s (LG) most important responsibilities is to build and maintain open communication with Club Presidents. On a quarterly basis (minimally), LGs should have a meaningful discussion with Presidents on service projects, fundraising projects and administration activities of their club.

Every quarter, LGs will use an LG Quarterly Discussion Points to guide a discussion with each Club President within their division:

LEADERSHIP AND EDUCATION
– Members aware of 2026-2027 District Goals & Distinguished Programs
– Youth Protection Guidelines completed or scheduled
– Attendance at the first quarter DMC (Divisional Council Meeting)
– Discuss/register for Mid-Year Education Conference 2027
– Club Education Items at meetings (information items prepared and presented at Club Meetings, that enhance the members’ knowledge of Kiwanis, including its purpose, outcomes, history, and the structure of the organization)
COMMUNITY IMPACT
– Kiwanis Member Advisor assigned for each SLP (Circle K, Key Club, Builders Club, K-Kids, & Aktion Club)
– Service Project for children or the community 
– Fundraising Projects to support an identified 
– Signature Project in Engage and project planned (is club entering KI Signature Project Contest? typically due by end of January)
BRANDING AND IMAGE
– Club has a Marketing Committee
– Club has viable, effective Marketing Plan, including social media presence
FINANCIAL VIABILITY
– 2026-2027 Budget Approved by Board in accordance with Club Bylaw 8.2 
Dues paid to Kiwanis International by November 30th 
– Club Financial Review for 2025-2026 year completed in accordance with Club Bylaw 8.3, club taxes (990) due to IRS by February 15th
MEMBERSHIP AND ENGAGEMENT
– Completed Kiwanis International Membership Plan Template  
– Reaching monthly Gold Star Goal 
– Members added & deleted in the quarter
– Discussion of possibly sponsoring a new Kiwanis Club
– Holding New Member Installation/Orientations
CLUB ADMINISTRATION
– Club roster accurate and up to date
– Monthly Secretary Reports for Oct, Nov, & Dec filed by 10th of each month 
– Participating in the District Update Program
– Club bylaws in system (updated Feb 2025 version)

These conversations will provide the opportunity to share positive feedback to the President on club accomplishments and discuss remedial plans regarding areas of concern, and, based on the conversation, LG will assess each LG Quarterly Discussion section as “Green”, “Yellow”, or “Red”. The completed assessment will assist LGs in identifying the health of the clubs in their division and enable them to make an informed report to the Governor. 

  • GREEN: plans are moving forward to achieve anticipated goal 
  • YELLOW: needs to be monitored with followed up to support achievement of anticipated outcomes
  • RED: immediate action plan needed to remediate identified concerns regarding the achievement of a positive outcome

After talking with each Club, LGs will use their assessments to submit a LG Quarterly Report below (one report for each club within the division). LG discussions with President should be completed throughout the month following the quarter being reviewed, with exception of the last quarter
